Cosmos: Taste good. Look good.

Cosmopolitans are all about the “formula”.  Just a slight change in the ratio of ingredients can really change the taste.  Here’s what I found makes the most flavorful, slightly tart Cosmo:

Start by storing a couple of martini glasses in your freezer.  If you haven’t done this, be sure to chill the glass with an ice-water bath for a few minutes while you’re shaking up the rest of the mix…

I use:
2 parts citrus vodka
1 part Cointreau (or triple sec)
1 part cranberry juice
juice of one lime (a bit less will reduce the tartness)

Add all ingredients and shake over ice.  Add a slice of lime on rim and/or floating in your drink.

Enjoy!

The All-American Egg

Food photography is kind of like my other specialty, wedding photography.  How?  Well, mostly that you have to be very quick to “get the shot”.  Case in point, this is real steam vapor rising off this tasty sunny-side-up egg this morning… cooked to just the right temperature, it posed nicely for this image.  And yep, it tasted pretty darn good too.  That’s a light sprinkle of seasoning gracing it.  And some still-chewy thick slice hickory-smoked bacon off to the side, too.
